Join one node to MySQL Galera Cluster the system we can using 3 way to sync data
- mysqldump
- rsync
- xtrabackup
I have some problem when join one node to cluster with rsync and mysqldump method. The cluster blocked and my application can't request. All connect has keeping
I had using xtrabackup and verry hapy with option.
how to install and configure xtrabackup
Step 1: install xtrabackup
Make file /etc/yum.repos.d/Percona.repo with content bellow
[percona]
name = CentOS $releasever - Percona
baseurl=http://repo.percona.com/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/
enabled = 1
gpgkey = file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-percona
gpgcheck = 1
Import key
wget -O /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-percona http://www.percona.com/downloads/RPM-GPG-KEY-percona
curl http://www.percona.com/downloads/RPM-GPG-KEY-percona -o /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-percona
Now you can instal extrabackup. All lib and bin file will extra to system. Using yum command
yum install xtrabackup
Step 2: configure with my.cnf
I have using extrabackup method with full replicate
wsrep_sst_method=xtrabackup
The system using socat to create socket with port 4444 and transfer datafile. the transfer finish you can see log: innobackup.backup.log
innobackupex: Backup created in directory '/tmp'
innobackupex: MySQL binlog position: filename '', position
innobackupex: You must use -i (--ignore-zeros) option for extraction of the tar stream.

and some minute you can join node to cluster
